Since August 2016, Cap't Guy & I had been happy weekend liveaboards on our beautiful boat, SV My Salvation on Lake Travis in Austin Texas.
We traveled from San Antonio Texas to Lake Travis every weekend. It began to get harder and harder to leave the boat with each passing week.
In December 2017, we were throwing around ideas of moving our life to Austin Texas so we could spend more time on our boat.
In the back and forth discussion of picking up our whole life and moving away from San Antonio, there was something not right about it....

The beginning...
Once upon a time… You know it’s going to be a great story when it begins like this, right?
My youngest son, Cas, is amazing. While they are both amazing, Cas is the gypsy. Fascinated by alternative lifestyles and always on the lookout for a cost-effective adventure.

When he was in his early 20’s, he found a sailboat on Craigslist, for a dollar. A functioning sailboat. The owner was unable to pay his slip fees and had no trailer. His marina was going to confiscate it for lack of payment. Cas was stoked, so stoked in fact that as he ran off to meet the owner, he forgot his wallet.
The owner agreed to pay the dollar himself, the necessary consideration to consummate a sale of goods. Cas was now the new owner of a gorgeous little 22’ sailboat named SV Knot A lot.
